Reba McEntire made history last week by hosting the American Country Music Awards for a record-setting 17th time, and it’s safe to say she grabbed her fair share of the spotlight.
The legendary singer took on the role of emcee in Frisco, Texas, a duty she’s handled multiple times, including in 2019 and as recently as last year.
At 69, McEntire is a seasoned pro, and her opening monologue confirmed she was in top form once again. Fans watching from home were quick to praise her hosting abilities, along with admiring her red carpet look.
Reports reveal that McEntire dazzled in a black sequined blazer paired with flared trousers by Roberto Cavalli, featuring a lace design. Her ensemble was elevated by turquoise jewelry, including a necklace and chandelier earrings, making her a standout at the event.
Naturally, Reba’s outfit sparked a wave of comments online. Known for her performance of the “Star-Spangled Banner” at this year’s Super Bowl, she remains a beloved figure in the U.S. and her fans didn’t hold back after the 2024 ACM Awards.
One admirer commented, “Absolutely stunning as usual, Reba.”
Another wrote, “You are amazing at what you do. But it’s also important to mention how amazing you look.”
A third added, “She is one gorgeous woman.”
Beyond her show-stopping attire, viewers were equally impressed by her hosting. This year marked the 17th time Reba has taken the helm, and her long-standing relationship with the ACM Awards dates back over 40 years to when she won her first award.
During the ceremony, Reba entertained the crowd with a few jokes, poking fun at award-nominated artist Jelly Roll and humorously reflecting on how stagecoaches, not festivals, were once a part of her school days.
Fans quickly took to social media to share their thoughts.
One fan on X said, “Having Reba host this year’s show is like having your favorite aunt come over for dinner. She’s so sweet & you love to hear from her.”
Another added, “She is just an absolutely incredible entertainer; country music is lucky to have her.”
“It’s always a good time and a party,” wrote a third.
A fourth fan called McEntire “the ultimate host.”
