Prince William Reveals an Unexpected Family Member Sharing His Bed with Kate Middleton—Discover Who It Is!

Prince William and Kate Middleton have an adorable family member who holds a special place in their hearts—and their bed! During a recent visit to Duchy College in Cornwall, England, on October 17, William revealed that their cocker spaniel, Orla, often sleeps with him and Kate at night.

While meeting a fan named Louise Harland and her dog Jacks, William expressed his affection for Orla, saying, “his little dog sleeps on the bed with them at night, with him and Kate,” according to Harland. She noted that William was smitten with her dog, commenting on how “soft” Jacks’ ears were and giving him plenty of affection.

Orla joined the royal family in 2020, a gift from Kate’s brother, James Middleton, after his dog Luna had a litter of puppies. Orla made her public debut in a royal birthday portrait for Princess Charlotte in 2022. The name “Orla” means “golden princess” in Celtic, fitting her royal status.

Orla came into the family shortly before the passing of their beloved dog Lupo in November 2020, whom they mourned deeply. Although Orla has been less visible since then, she accompanied the royal couple at the Royal Charity Polo Cup last summer.

In addition to their canine companions, Prince William revealed earlier this year that their three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—also have a pet guinea pig named Snowflake. William mentioned that he often ends up cleaning the guinea pig’s cage because the kids sometimes forget to do it.
