It all began with Gatubela, the cat, lounging on the sofa, gazing down at Samuel, who was still crawling on the floor. Since Samuel wasn’t walking yet, Gatubela had no trouble keeping an eye on him from above.

In the middle of the room was a colorful crib, but Samuel wasn’t inside. Instead, he was exploring, full of curiosity about everything around him. No matter where Samuel moved, Gatubela remained vigilant, aware of the dangers that curiosity could bring, especially for such a young child.

As Samuel made his way toward a door in the corner, leading to a flight of stairs out of sight of the camera, Gatubela quickly noticed his destination. Without hesitation, she rushed over and, at first, tried to grab him by the nape of his neck, as if handling a kitten. Realizing this wasn’t working, she decided to take a different approach. Gatubela positioned herself in front of Samuel and gently nudged him back, using her body to block his path and prevent him from reaching the stairs.

Her protective instincts kicked in, ensuring Samuel stayed safe from the danger lurking just beyond the door.
