A young man recently learned a valuable—and hilarious—lesson about leaving home untidy when his parents pulled a clever prank on him.

Having just arrived in Bucharest for his first year of college, he was settling into dorm life when he received a call from his parents promising to send him a package. Like most college students, he was thrilled at the thought of receiving food and treats from home.

Excited, he rushed to the train station to pick up the large box. Eagerly lugging it back to his dorm room, he opened it, expecting goodies—only to be met with a shock. The box contained no food at all, just rubbish and empty wrappers. Confused at first, he soon spotted a note tucked inside:

“You forgot to clean your room before leaving. Please take out the trash.”

The prank hit home, and the young man couldn’t help but laugh.
