Actor Art Evans, Known for ‘Die Hard 2’ and ‘Fright Night,’ Passes Away at 82

Art Evans, an actor best known for his roles in Die Hard 2 and Fright Night, has sadly passed away, as confirmed by his representatives.

Erica Huntzinger, his publicist, shared with Variety that Art passed away on Saturday, surrounded by his loved ones. While his representative stated that Art had been battling diabetes for some time, the cause of death was not disclosed by Deadline.

Many will remember Art for his portrayal of Barnes in Die Hard 2 (1990), where his character aids Bruce Willis’s John McClane during the chaos at Dulles International Airport. As debates about whether Die Hard is a Christmas movie continue, it’s likely that many households are currently enjoying the film during the holiday season.

In addition to his role in Die Hard 2, Art also played Detective Lennox in the 1985 horror film Fright Night, where he portrayed a skeptical officer investigating strange happenings in a town suspected of harboring a vampire.

Art’s acting career also spanned numerous other notable roles in TV shows and films, including Metro, MASH*, Hill Street Blues, Monk, The X-Files, Ruthless People, and Mad About You.

Art Evans is survived by his wife, Babe Evans, and their son, Ogadae Evans, who have requested privacy as they grieve their loss.
